Epigenetic modifications in grapevine caused by genotype/environment interactions

Starting point of this project is the genome sequencing of three grapevine ‘Nebbiolo’ clones, currently in progress (project “Nebbiolo Genomics”); the aim is to integrate the genetic characterization of the cultivar with data from metylome analyses, i.e. through a study of epigenetic changes induced by interactions between the genotype (clone) and the environment (soil, climate, etc.). Particular attention will be paid to the effects on the polyphenolic potentiality of the cultivar. The project is carried out in collaboration with the Biotechnology Department of the Verona University and the Udine University.
