The project, carried out by the Winery Librandi, one of the most important of Calabria region (South Italy), in collaboration with IPSP-CNR is focused to understand the effects of different rootstocks on the agronomic, physiological and enological performances of Gaglioppo, the most important wine cultivar of the region.

An experimental vineyard with 20 different rootstock combinations (100 vines each) was planted using the same clone Gaglioppo Librandi CVT 80, selected by IPSP-CNR (figure).

15 combinations were chosen for this study and for two years their field and cellar behavior is monitored.

On 5 combinations, out of the previous 15, the genic expression related to different water stress regimes is evaluated in three dates over the summer.
