I am a postdoctoral researcher at CNR-IPSP of Torino, my research is currently focused on studying insect vectors of the bacterial pest Xylella fastidiosa, major causal agents of the OQDS in Apulia. The main insect vector of X. fastidiosa is the xylem sap-feeder spittlebug Philaenus spumarius, of which I am studying several aspects of the biology, ecology and phenology using a multi-scale approach, that is implementing information at landscape scale to experiments carried out in confined environments. Information acquired will be useful in elaborating effective control measures against the vectors of X. fastidiosa.
